California Captures: La Jolla Seascape
Join us at the tide pools in La Jolla, California on August 15th at 1:30pm for a day of learning. Come learn how to use your camera to get stunning long exposure seascapes. We will meet at the stairs leading down to the tide pools between 1:30 and 2:00pm. When everyone has arrived we will head down to the beach and start things off by going over the concept of pre-visualization, composition, effective equipment use (tripods, shutter release cables, ND filters, etc.), and the appropriate camera settings for capturing seascapes.
After the basics have been covered we will find our spots, set up our tripods, and shoot till just after sunset. We will be in the tide pools a few hours, so if you get hungry or thirsty water and snacks will be available during this time. After we have finished capturing our images we will talk about the best way to clean and pack up our cameras and filters after a day of shooting beside the ocean.
When we are all packed up we will head to a local restaurant (food is not covered in the cost of the workshop) where we will eat dinner and set up shop for post-processing. We will go over our images and the basics of editing. You will learn to merge images, reduce noise, enhance the color, and change the little things that will make your images come to life. We will give you a basic set of skills that you can apply to all your images moving forward.
After we are finished editing we will give you all an opportunity to allow us to share your best images on our blog and Facebook page. We will also provide you with a 12"x 18" high quality print of your best image of the day and we will ship it to your home on the best paper for your image.
